To deepen people-to-people exchanges and connectivity, China NGO Network for International Exchanges (CNIE) organized a delegation of 16 people, including NGO representatives, think tank experts, and media workers from Switzerland, Cuba, Pakistan, the UK, Brazil, and Tunisia, to visit Chongqing from April 23 to 26. Feng Zimin, Deputy Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government, participated in relevant activities.
Feng Zimin welcomed the arrival of the delegation and introduced the socio-economic development of Chongqing. He said, “Located in Southwestern inland China and on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, Chongqing is a famous historical and cultural city in China with a history of over 3,000 years. Since becoming a centrally-administered municipality, Chongqing has registered remarkable development. Upholding its positioning assigned by the country as one of Chinas national key cities, the economic center on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, Chinas major modernized manufacturing base, a comprehensive transportation hub in Southwestern China, and a leader of opening up in inland China, Chongqing strives to promote socio-economic development. In 2022, the GDP in Chongqing stood at RMB2.91 trillion, up by 2.6% year on year. The total import and export volume reached RMB815.84 billion, up by 2% year on year. A total of 268 new foreign investment projects have been introduced. As of the end of 2022, a total of 316 Fortune 500 companies established their presence in Chongqing.

At the Chongqing Planning Exhibition Gallery, the delegation was able to witness the development and beauty of the city up close. The delegation was enchanted by the exhibition of Chongqings landscapes and local culture, the models of stilted buildings along the hillsides, and the unique scene of a monorail passing through a building at Liziba Station. They praised Chongqing for its socio-economic development.
“Over 1,000 robots are working in an orderly and coordinated manner. With the rotating of mechanical arms and the flashing of laser welding machines, it only takes five seconds to stamp car parts.” Listening to the introduction in Chongqing SERES Liangjiang Smart Factory, members of the delegation were amazed by Chongqings application of smart technologies. They expressed their confidence in the development of Chongqings smart manufacturing industry and praised cars “Made-in-Chongqing” as an important participant in the global automotive industry.
During the visit, the delegation also visited places such as the Liziba Station of Chongqing Rail Transit, Chongqing Handmade Weaving and Knitting Association, and the Changan Auto Global R&D Center, and attended exchange sessions with representatives from the Human Rights Institute School of Southwest University of Political Science & Law and the Chongqing Center for Equal Social Development. The delegation congratulated Chongqing on its achievements in socio-economic development and highly praised Chongqings practices in creating a high-quality life and protecting the development rights of its people.
David Lopez, permanent representative of International Association for Human Rights and Social Development (AIDHDES) said:
“As an international transportation hub and an emerging city, Chongqing boasts immeasurable development potential. In terms of international human rights and social development, Chongqing has set a fine example. The government has provided a more fair and inclusive living environment for all. I hope to have a better understanding of this city and learn more here.”
Muhammad Asif Noor Farooqi, director of Center for BRI & China Studies of Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies said:
“It is my first time here in Chongqing. Im deeply attracted by this dynamic city. Its rich cultural heritage, beautiful urban landscape, spicy and delicious food, and the Chongqing peoples warm hospitality impressed me a lot.”
Muhammad Asif Noor Farooqi noted that social organizations in Chongqing have provided valuable experience in improving peoples livelihoods. He will bring this experience back to Pakistan for a joint contribution toward a more peaceful and prosperous world.
After this visit, the Pakistani journalists accompanying the delegation published articles titled Chinas Chongqing City Leading the Trends of Economic Development in Business Times, Changan Innovates the Modern Drive Across the Globe in Pakistan Daily, and another article in Pakistan OBSERVER to promote and praise Chongqing.

为深化民间交往,助力民心相通,4月23日至26日,中国民间组织国际交流促进会(简称:中促会)组织瑞士、古巴、巴基斯坦、英国、巴西、突尼斯等国16位非政府组织代表、智库专家、媒体人士等组成民间考察团访问重庆,开展为期4天的参观交流。市政府外办副主任冯子敏出席有关活动。
冯子敏对考察团的到来表示欢迎并介绍重庆市经济社会发展情况。他说,重庆位于中国内陆西南部、长江上游地区,拥有3000多年的历史,是中国著名历史文化名城。直辖以来,重庆发展取得显著成就,紧紧围绕国家重要中心城市、长江上游地区经济中心、国家重要现代制造业基地、西南地区综合交通枢纽和内陆开放高地等国家赋予的定位,谋划和推动经济社会发展。2022年,全市实现地区生产总值2.91万亿元,同比增长2.6%;
进出口总额8158.4亿元,同比增长2%;
新设外资项目268个,截至2022年底,累计有316家世界500强企业落户重庆。

在重庆市规划展览馆,考察团成员近距离感受城市发展与重庆之美。馆内展示出重庆的山川河岳及风土人情、依山而建的吊脚楼景观模型、穿楼而过的李子坝轻轨奇景引得他们不断驻足,点赞重庆经济社会发展。
“这里有1000多台机器人有序协作,机械臂伸缩旋转,激光焊接高速运转,冲压完成一套汽车部件仅需5秒钟。”在重庆两江新区的赛力斯智慧工厂,听着工作人员的介绍,考察团成员对重庆制造业智能化水平赞叹不已,并表示看好重庆智能制造行业的发展,点赞“重庆造”汽车已成为全球汽车行业的重要参与者。
在渝期间,考察团还参访了轨道交通李子坝站、市手工编织协会、长安汽车全球研发中心等地,并与西南政法大学人权研究院、重庆市亦格社会发展促进中心进行座谈交流。考察团对重庆经济社会发展取得的成就表示祝贺,并高度评价重庆在创造高品质生活、保障人民发展权方面所作出的有益实践。
瑞士国际人权和社会发展协会负责人大卫·洛佩斯表示,作为国际性综合交通枢纽,重庆这座城市未来的发展不可估量。就国际人权和社会发展方面来说,重庆树立了一个很好的榜样,政府创建了更公平、更适应所有人的生活环境。希望能进一步了解这个城市,在这里学习更多的东西。
巴基斯坦和平与外交研究所“一带一路”与中国研究中心主任穆罕默德·阿西夫·努尔·法鲁奇说:“第一次来到重庆,我就被这座充满活力的城市深深吸引。这里丰富的文化遗产、美丽的城市景观、火辣辣的美食以及重庆人热情好客的性格,都给我留下了深刻的印象。”
穆罕默德·阿西夫·努尔·法鲁奇表示,重庆很多社会组织在加强和改善民生生活方面的宝贵经验让他受益匪浅,将把这些经验带回巴基斯坦,共同为建设更加和平繁荣的世界作出贡献。
本次活动行程结束后,随团的巴基斯坦记者通过Business Times、Pakistan Daily、Pakistan OBSERVER相关渠道发表《重庆引领着中国经济发展的潮流》《长安在全球创新现代驱动》等文章宣传重庆、点赞重庆。
